This policy explains what personal data we collect through OperatorState.io, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We are the data controller.

1. What we collect
Information you give us: name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number, and order details. Payment card details are entered directly into our payment providers and are not stored by us.
Information collected automatically: device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, referring site, and similar analytics data collected through cookies and comparable technologies.
Information you volunteer: newsletter sign-ups, product reviews, and messages you send to support.
2. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To fulfil your order — processing payment, delivery, and customer service. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To manage subscriptions — recurring orders and account management. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting and consumer law records. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- To improve the site and understand how it is used — analytics. Legal basis: consent (via cookie banner) or legitimate interests.
- Marketing — email updates and advertising. Legal basis: consent, or legitimate interests for existing customers regarding similar products. You can opt out at any time.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with providers who help us run the business, and only as needed:
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts this store and processes orders.
- Payment providers — including Shopify Payments and, where offered, PayPal or similar, to process payments.
- Google — Google Analytics and Google Ads, for site analytics and advertising measurement.
- Meta Platforms — Facebook and Instagram advertising, including conversion measurement and audience creation.
- Email and review providers — to send emails you have consented to and to collect product reviews.
- Delivery partners — to deliver your order.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK/EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Advertising and cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, analytics, and advertising. Advertising cookies — including the Meta Pixel and Google Ads tags — may be used to measure campaign performance and to show you relevant ads on other platforms. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time in your browser settings.
5. How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for at least six years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained according to each provider's retention settings.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email support@operatorstate.io.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Children
This site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the current one.
